Double Honors from BIM (Bord Iascaigh Mhara)

18th Jan 2011 saw another first for Scally’s SuperValu Clonakilty when the multi award winning store received two more accolades from Bord Iascaigh Mhara (BIM), the BIM Supermarket Seafood Counter 2011 for a second year in a row and the Award for Product Innovation 2011.

“We are delighted to be recognised for the quality of our offering on the Seafood Counter again this year but to be acknowledged for our new product innovation is particularly rewarding to us.”  said Eugene Scally, owner of Scally’s SuperValu. “Our talented team here in Scallys has dedicated much of its time and effort in developing an exciting selection of seafood products that is exclusive to our store.  We are very proud of the quality of seafood available to us here in West Cork and our focus is on sharing that passion with our customers and making seafood more appealing to all.

Its easy to see why BIM have chosen to honor Scally’s for their innovation, when you consider that this year alone Scallys has introduced over seven new products, its own Salmon goujons, fish pies, fish sausages, fish burgers, fish cakes, fish stock and fish stuffing, all freshly prepared in Scally’s own kitchen instore.   “The range is proving extremely popular and the feedback from our customers has been very encouraging” said Michael Walsh, Fresh food Manager, Scally’s SuperValu.

On the store’s dedicated Seafood Deli Counter, is another mouthwatering selection of ready to eat products, just perfect for a tasty starter or satisfying main course.   Customers can choose from Cajun or lemon and dill salmon darnes, salmon and potato cakes, smoked mackerel pate, spicy prawns, mussels, clams, fish quiche and a selection of sandwiches such as smoked salmon and cream cheese and prawn cocktail.   All dishes are freshly prepared instore and customers are treated to a variety of dishes daily.
